I have been away for a while. Some of you may remember me (believe me, I remember and miss each of you). I am seriously planning to visit the wonderful country of Swinglandia this Spring. This time I hope to bring a guest with me.... my nephew! I am proud to announce that he has been bitten by the swing dance bug. He is graduating from high school this spring and my gift to him is an all expense paid vacation to Swinglandia. He is a newbie, so I ask all the follows to be extra patient with him

Brian, such your interest to Swingland deserves admiration! Because for the money of travel tickets you could visit couple of seminars in US.
I have not heard about free tickets to Ukraine, maybe only through sponsorship. You need to convince airlines that your visit serves international dance mission "peace and friendship in the world". I suggest that you stay in Europe till Herrang to save on tickets.
Anyway, it is excellent news that you are coming and bringing your nephew. Leaders are always in need at dance seminars, despite of dance level. Welcome!

I saw the photos and you guys have definitely stepped up the theatrics! So you could say the photos and seeing all the dancers that I miss helped influence my decision to return.

I am Swinglandia's biggest American fan.... okay, I am Swinglandia's only American fan. Therefore I take my lofty position seriously and evengelize the good news about Swinglandia. I tell stories to everyone about my wonderful dance experiences in Russia and Ukraine. Sometimes I meet American swing dancers that immigrated from Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia as children. At first they don't believe me. Then they find the whole concept too much for their brains. Finally they are intrigued enough to ask for contact information, so maybe it will happenSwinglandia

... but Swinglandia is not in the USA. And actually that is fine with me. As long as Swinglandia exist somewhere, I will go there!

I was on the phone talking to President Bush the other day about world peace through international dance cooperation... I think he fell asleep half way through the conversation, so I'm not holding my breath. On a more practical note, I want my nephew to meet people and expand his horizon about the world. I want him to appreciate the infinite possibilities of swing dancing. I like your suggestion about sticking around Europe until Herrang, it would be 'крута' (Hope I spelled that right).

Everyone is turning into Elton John! Does this mean late night dancing will be endless repeats of "Crocodile Rock" and "Benny and the Jets" 
Okay, I know when to surrender. If Sasha has beautiful followers like Klavdia, then I will get some big sunglasses 
and a psychedelic colored hat too , but I will not wear sequins! I will not be consumed by the "Dark Side of West Coast Swing!"

This is what we call a competition for the market. It is not enough just do dance - you have to put on some fancy decorations in order to be popular... By the way, Elton John look is already a registered trademark, so, Brian, you'd have to adopt some other style - there are plenty of them around. I'd say that George Michael is also a stylish one, quite promising
I will not be consumed by the "Dark Side of West Coast Swing!"

Watch out, Brian! Do not follow any advice so simply - wrong costume can attract not those dance partners that you expected to dance with at Swingland.
Once I was a member of one intl student organization (very serious and respected), and they sometimes had sex-change parties. Then it can be a lot of fun. Maybe we will have such topic party in the agenda of coming camp!?

Andrei, I will simply refer you to LindyExchange.com and you can peruse the multitudes of exchanges and workshops. Various prices for various commodities. I am going to Lindy Focus for New years celebration and I think its too much money, but it will be very close to where some of my family lives during the holidays.
For me, workshops and exchanges are about the people I get to hang out with more than the money. I noticed on a different thread that the Kiev dancers are thinking about going to Barswingona. I think group road trips are a blast and Barswingona has been great in the past.
